Melissa has a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Westminster College. She empowers individuals to grow and create personal safety by listening with a nonjudgmental ear. With a warm, compassionate approach she seeks to help clients understand their symptoms and develop practical solutions to change their relationship to those symptoms and the stressors involved. With over 6 years in the mental health field, her transparent and down-to-earth approach has assisted clients ages 17-80 with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, LGBTQ-related issues, addiction, surviving sexual and domestic abuse, and spirituality. She has also assisted individuals, couples and families navigating difficult transitions and/or traumas. The types of therapy that she relies on most are Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other mindfulness-based and strength-based approaches.
